Why files are processed in your browser

2026-08-07 · About 8 min

Many online tools upload a file, process it in the cloud, then let you download it. That is easy to build, but unclear for homework scans, contracts, and private photos.

What local means here

Processing runs in your local browser. Files are not uploaded to our backend servers and are not stored on our servers.

Trade-offs are real. Huge PDFs and low-end phones can be slow or run out of memory. Heavy layout work, OCR, and archival compression still belong in desktop apps.

Closing the tab usually clears in-page results. Download anything you need to keep.

Local is not absolute safety

Malicious extensions, people looking over your shoulder on shared computers, and sending to the wrong chat can still leak data. Do not paste passwords, card numbers, or full ID photos into random web tools unless you understand the risk.

On public machines, clear downloads and be aware of preview caches.

Once you send a file by chat or email, the other side’s storage rules are outside this site. Local processing only covers the step you do on this page.

How DaysTool fits

We offer image, PDF, and everyday text tools with guides that state their limits. Ad scripts stay off until approval and an explicit enable flag, and they are not fed your tool files.

All current tools process files in your local browser. Nothing is uploaded to our servers. That fits everyday tasks you would rather not send into the open cloud.
