Wrong recipients, extra pages, and location-tagged photos cause more trouble than the tools themselves. Spend a few minutes on this checklist before you share.
What is on the page
Look for ID numbers, chat windows on a desk, names on a whiteboard, or a house number at the door. Crop or redact when needed.
Does the PDF include only the pages they need? Use PDF Split to send signature pages or an appendix instead of the whole contract.
Before a group send, check the recipient list so A’s file does not land in B’s thread.
Metadata and credit
Strip EXIF on photos you post publicly so device, time, and possible location tags do not travel with the file.
A light watermark can mark portfolio work, but it is not a license. It will not stop careful cropping; it is only an extra reminder.
Avoid filenames like password, payroll, or national-ID. Those strings stand out in preview lists.
After you send
Check drive-link permissions and expiry. Delete download copies on shared computers.
Tools on this site process files in your local browser and do not upload them to our servers. Once a file is in chat or email, you still follow that platform’s rules and your own confidentiality needs.
If you are unsure, ask the owner or teacher before sending. Pulling a message back is weaker than not sending it.
