Tips for submitting homework photos from a phone

2026-08-07 · About 8 min

Phone submissions are common, but teachers often get blurry text, glare, sideways pages, or files that are too large to upload. A couple of minutes of prep beats retrying at the deadline.

While you shoot

Use even light. Avoid harsh glare and big window shadows. Keep the paper flat and the camera roughly parallel so the page is not a trapezoid.

One page per photo. Focus first, then shoot. Move closer for tiny writing, but keep all four edges in frame.

If glare hides the text, change angle or turn a light down. Reshooting beats trying to “fix” a bad photo later.

Before you submit

Rotate sideways pages with Image Rotate. Put pages in reading order, then use Images to PDF so you send one file instead of five attachments.

If a photo or the PDF is still too big, use Image Compress to limit the longest edge or ease quality down a little. Start from the original, not a blurry copy you already sent.

Open the PDF and flip through it: orientation, order, missing pages, and whether the writing is still readable. Upload only when it looks right.

Quick notes

If the portal wants images instead of a PDF, use the same clarity and size checks. Name files with your name and assignment title.

Processing runs in your local browser. Photos are not uploaded to our servers. After you submit, avoid posting the originals in a public chat.
