Event galleries, product shots, and lab photos in bulk take a long time to resize one by one. Keep the rule simple and spot-check the results.
Pick one rule
Common choices: longest edge at most 1920 or 1280, or width 800 with proportional height. Fewer rules mean less rework.
Exact canvas sizes, such as ID photos, belong in Image Resize or Crop. Batch tools work best for a shared max edge.
When you mix landscape and portrait shots, a max-edge rule usually looks better than forcing the same width and height.
Suggested order
Batch resize first, then spot-check a few images for text and edges. Use Image Compress only if the files are still over a size limit. Compressing before resizing is harder to control.
Scan the result list for outliers. Very large PNGs may need a JPEG or WebP convert.
Copy a backup folder first. Download a ZIP and archive the outputs.
On a phone, selecting too many large photos at once can stall. Split into two batches, or do the work on a computer.
